
Los Angeles, Ca – The Bruins couldn’t find a way to get back from there 3rd quarter let down. The fourth quarter was much of the same. The Trojans played like their Clay Helton head coaches identity Ball control offense behind the running game. UCLA was defeated 40-21 to USC in final regular season game. Both finishing with a record 8-4.
This was 85th matchup for these cross-town rivals played today’s contest at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The battle of Los Angeles is for the right to represents the Pac-12 south next week in Championships game at Levi Stadium.
Running back Paul Perkins put the Bruins on the score board first on 4th & 1 scoring on 19 yard dip and go for 7-3 lead with 3:26 left 1st quarter. Then 85 yards in 10 plays later the Trojans respond with 1 yard Kessler sneak and the led 10-7 in second quarter. This drive was set up by JuJu who got DB Meadows on double move for big catch of 34 yards.

The Bruins were controlling the game in first half until they gave up big yards on 1st sack of Rosen in the game, that gave wide open field for Adoree’ Jackson 42 yard punt return for a touchdown and the halftime lead 20-14. The kick was a line drive that didn’t allow time for the coverage team to get down the field and the elusive Trojans made them pay for it.
The Trojans had the momentum going into the half but that all changed when Bruins scored on 1 yard Perkins touchdown to seize back the lead in 3rd Quarter 21-20 with 8:38. Then Defensive Coordinator Tom Bradley began to get his zone defensive scheme rolling and began to dial up some pressure of their own.

USC Rasheem Green at UCLA 32 yard line scooped up Rosen fumble for quick led but was unsuccessful in making 2 point conversion to gain full 7 point lead so Bruins mistake left down 21-26. Then on back to back possession Rosen then throws off his back foot for interception by Iman Marshall with 5:16 left in 3rd Quarter.
The Trojans will not have the opportunity for a rematch against the Stanford Cardinals who defeated them 41-31 in their Pac-12 opener. So these teams who opened up against each other in league play will now face off Pac-12 birthday 100th years Championship game. So Next Saturday December 5th will be a great matchup for revenge or dominance.
