Los Angeles, Ca – It’s a new day at El Camino College, the Warriors have announced their new Head Football Coach Gifford Lindheim. He was the former head coach at Santa Monica College, where he led his team to 5 consecutives American Pacific Conference Titles. Coach will take over helm for 2016-2017 season and break in the newly built 40 million day stadium under the lights.

Coach Lindheim let the masses know about his decision today on social media post:

“I have been offered and I have accepted the full time Head Football Coaching job at El Camino College. I am extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish at SMC. SMC averaged less than 2 wins per season in the 5 seasons before I arrived. In the past 5 seasons, the accomplishments have been unprecedented in school history. We have won 5 Conference Championships and 34 straight Conference games. We were the only undefeated Junior College team in the state last season and have been moved up into the elite conference of Southern California. In that span, hundreds of players have experienced what it feels like to be a Champion. As of now, 79 players have moved on to 4 year colleges to continue playing the game they love and continue their education. More importantly than even the wins, hopefully the program has impacted in a positive way each individual that has made their way through it. With that being said, it is an honor and privilege to lead the football program at El Camino, one of the most storied Junior College programs in all of California. They open a $40 million dollar stadium this year and are committed to putting the program back on top.”

Lindheim will be joining El Camino College who has a 60-plus years of athletic history, they are proud of their tradition of excellence both athletically and academically. Student-athletes are encouraged and guided by exceptional administrators, professors, coaches and support staff. The process of establishing and working toward lifetime goals is enhanced by the many opportunities available to all Warrior student-athletes.

This will be an exciting time in the Warrior History with a rebirth after a legend Coach Featherstone  retired last season. Coach is going down as the winningest head football coach at El Camino College for the past 22 years with 166-73-1 record (69.2 %).

So let’s watch Coach Lindheim go make history again! This time around he has the support of the school to bring a program back to the top. GO WARRIORS!
