Boulder, CU- Saturday night wouldn’t be right without another epic nail biter at Folsom field. The star sightings were everywhere on the Buffs sideline as newly acquired Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns shared a sideline for the first time since they played together in Oklahoma City.
Speaking of former teammates Sheduer Sanders and the Colorado Buffs also shared the field with a former teammate against Dylan Edwards on his new team the Kansas State Wildcats. Edwards a Kansas native who was a part of Colorado first season with Coach Prime last year being a focal point of offense last season. But decided to enter the transfer portal as the Buffs started beefing up their backfield this year with promising new backs.

The Buffs defense struggled all night, stopping the run as Edwards and the Kansas State gave the Buffs headaches rushing for 185 yards Saturday night as Edwards scored a touchdown in a back up role to lead back DJ Giddens . Who had a monster game on the ground gaining 182 yards on 25 carries. Who out gained the Buffs 185- negative 29 yards rushing. Which gave the Wildcats the nod on the time of possession 35 minutes to Colorado’s 25 minutes.
Even with Kansas State being effective with the run game. Sheduer had the passing game clicking all night and was insync connecting with nine different receivers even after losing four of his receivers. All of them being rotational starters. There was no bigger loss than Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr who both went down in the second quarter. Which wasn’t a problem for the Buffs to move the ball having probably the best receiving corps group in the nation.

Omarion Miller and Will Shepard led Colorado as the next men up. Miller had 8 grabs for 145 yards before exiting with the injury. LaJohntay Webster also added 5-58yatds and two touchdowns in the game. Shepard had 5-83 yards and a touchdown. Terrell Timmons .Jr also went down with an injury.
Sanders threw for 34-40 388 and 3 touchdowns. Sheduer Stating “never in my life have I ever seen four receivers go down in the same game but we are stacked at Receiver so it’s the next man up.”
Even though the Buffs had a tough time, stopping K State’s run game, the Buffs defense line made timely plays in the in big moments, especially in the second half. BJ Green seem to hit a second gear and was able to get to the quarterback twice (2) his first two sacks of the season. Taje McCoy also had a productive game earning his third sack in the past two games.

Carlton Hood came up with the biggest play of the night as he picked off quarterback Avery Johnson returning it 59 yards to almost score and putting the Buffs in scoring position in the red zone. Sanders connects with LaJohntay Webster again to put the Buffs up 28-24 with 3 mins left in the 4th.
Unfortunately, the Buffs they gave up two big plays that allow Kansas State to come back down and score. And the game ended on fourth down play that could have been pass interference to the sidelines to Will Shepherd to end the Buffs hopes of a come back. Final KSU31-COL28.

I see the Colorado running the table the rest of the season after this hard fought game .
