Another great year for the #1 golfer in world Tiger Woods and the sport of golf. Most folks who casually watch the sport would label this a bad year for Woods, due to high expectations placed on him. Tiger did win 2013 PGA Tour play of the year award, beating out a good field of players. Imagine having a football team go undefeated for a season now that would be easier than a golfer wining week in and week out. It just tough to win multiples wins on tour, that’s what makes Tigers 5 win performances all the more spectacular. Only four other golfers had more than one PGA win, all tied with two wins apiece.
Many golfers fight to keep their PGA tour cards by making enough money during this 2013 golf year to make the cut, Tiger lead the field with a mere $8,553,439. Not bad for a Tiger who regained the top sport in world ranking again in March of this year. Keeping his point totals along with his stats that folks can only dream about 5 PGA tour wins, 8 top 10 finishes, & 10 top 25 finishes. This season Tiger won at the Farmers Insurance Open, the WGC, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, & the World Golf Championship.
The spot light has been bright on the Stanford alum during his comeback years watching every move he makes. In the end Tigers continues to smile and work towards being the most dominating force on tour. Tiger was asked how would he summarize his season, “Pretty damn good year” So what will be next as the 2014 season approaches and this year majors await his presence. Will there be a Grand Slam for us fans to be amazed by, always a rhetorical question going into the New Year when a Tiger lurking.
The fans in Southern California will miss Tiger as he bid farewell to hosting his annual tournament at Sherwood Country Club in Westlake Ca for the last 14 years. He normally passes on the Rivera Country Club tour stop so looks like Torry Pines will be Tiger’s only stop in the far west. So be ready to watch Tiger Woods in HD and imagine that you were there watching live from the course week after week.
