Pac 12 South – The Battle of Los Angeles & the victory bell have belonged to Ucla the last few years. These two programs will be looking to make some noise in the South. The Bruins have a solid core coming back to put them into position to contend for the Rose Bowl. The Trojans have been lacking depth but with a lot underclassmen playing in key roles will have a great effect on their depth this year to help Senior QB Cody Kessler. The Bruins toppled Kansas State 40-35 in the Alamo Bowl. The Trojans  hung on to beat Nebraska 45-42.

2015-2016

UCLA

Head Coach Jim Mora is back for his fourth season at the helm with a record of 29-11 after 3 first years.

The Bruins return 19 starters from last year team 9 offensive, 8 defensive, punter & kicker. Players to watch RB Paul Perkins rushed 1,575 yards, 9 touchdowns and earlier Heisman consideration. WR Jordan Payton lead wide outs with 954 yards, C Jake Brendel will be quarterback of the offensive line.  LB Myles Jack back to electrify the crowd on both sides of the ball. CB Ishmael Adams who also doubles as threat as Kick Returner. All Ucla fans remember Adams 100 yard KOR and his 95 yard Interception for a touchdown. New comer QB Josh Rosen the highly recruited from St. John Bosco who will push Jerry Neuheisel for the starting spot.

This UCLA team will make a lot of noise this year in the Pac 12, having an experienced offensive line for first time in years will be big. All this talent coming back will move this program forward, Prediction: 1st in Pac 12 South, Rose Bowl berth.

USC

Head Coach Steve Sarkisian in his first season went 9-4 with a ton of underclassmen playing key roles.

The Trojans return 14 starters from last year team 7 offensive, 6 defensive, punter. Players to watch QB Cody Kessler who threw for 39 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. WR JuJu Smith will be back as true sophomore after starting every game but one a freshman and winning USC John McKay Award for competitive spirit. C Max Tuerk a 3 year starter who has played every position on line.  LB Su’a Cravens will make any defensive coordinator job easier with his aggressive play. CB-WR Adoree’ Jackson will be back for second season he didn’t allow a touchdown pass on the whole regular season. New comers WR both 6’4 JUCO transfers Isaac Whitney & De’Quan Hampton. DB Iman “Biggie” Marshall true freshman from Long Beach Poly who committed to SC in a Rap Video.

USC is looking for this year to be another step in right direction to be back in national spotlight. Their  recruiting class have kept them in games but still need that depth to be the elite. Prediction:  2nd Pac 12 South, Alamo Bowl.
