Torrance, CA – Torrance, CA – The defenses stepped up all day for both teams but in the end the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits came out on top with 147-10 victory over the Narbonne Gauchos Friday at Murdock Stadium.

This game was still up for grabs in the fourth quarter after four lead changes in the game. All of scoring came in second half of this defensive or bad offensive execution.

Poly took the their final lead on well designed legal pick play to Darius Kryger to cap off 60 yard drive and 14-10 lead with 5:35 left in the game.

In the second have Poly quarterback Matt Corral played better in second half finding his weapons to s core points.

“I had to get it together for the rest of my team and just have a short memory,” said Corral.

Jalen Hall was one of the weapons that made some great catches throughout the game. Hall scored the team’s first touchdown on fade route in third quarter to lead 7-3.

Narbonne coming off a great win last week received some great news of running back Jermar Jefferson being declared eligible with a hardship transfer.

Jefferson was Narbonne workhorse grinding up Poly defense every carry running hard for over 100 yards rushing.

Jalen Chatman started the game strong but the pressure from Poly front line seem to be too much. The last two weeks Chatman has not looked like his former self from last year being confident in the pocket.

In the end Poly was able to make one more play then Narbonne who last led the game 10-7 off a Jefferson touchdown 4th quarter 7:59 on the clock.

There was a lot of talent for both teams who will continue to get better as the season moves on.

Long Beach Poly will going into a bye week before facing Mission Viejo on Friday September 15. Narbonne will go on the road to Palos Verdes for day game Friday September 8, at 3pm.
