Carson, Ca – Facing a traditional South Bay powerhouse, Hawkins High dominates both sides of the ball for a 53-7 victory over the Carson Colts.

Hawkins was first to put point on the board behind the strong arm of their quarterback Dylan Lemle who connected with Joseph Lewis on a 62 yard touchdown pass.

After the a few series you could tell that Hawkins coaches saw they could run the ball based on the defense alignment. Then a steady diet of running backs Darryl Dolberry #2 and Greg Johnson #3 who both reached the endzone in the first half. Dolberry showed off his speed with impressive 63 yard touchdown on the right side behind James Hilliard III #59.

Carson kept fighting in putting their best drive of half together lead by quarterback Jaja Bellinger with a long drive before Johnson intercepted a crossing route on the 3 yard line to end the drive. Johnson didn’t get the pick six but the coaches rewarded him by hand him ball for 3 yard touchdown to end the half with 26-0 lead.

The door was shut on Carson when they opened the second half to a 72 yard pick six by Hawkins safety Aashari Crosswell and 33-0 lead.

Hawkins has weapons all over the field on both side of the ball, just some great athletes with speed.

Before the game was over Carson was able to get on the scoreboard with 8 yard touchdown run by Malcolm Lutu in the 4th quarter 40-7.

Next up on Friday September 16th  Hawkins (3-0) will host Mater Dei Catholic from Chula Vista (2-0) and Carson (1-1) will travel to Westchester (3-0).
