The running game for San Diego only managed 63 yards which was a credit to UCLA defense. They kept flying around on the field.

Defense back Alex Johnson (#36) had two interceptions on Mayden that allowed few more possessions for the Bruins.

“It was a dream come true today,” said Johnson, “Whatever the offense does we tend to match it.”

Even when the Bruins turned to ball over in their own redzone the defense was able to come on the field and stone San Diego St. On 4th Goal the defense came up with a pop off the receiver pads to only be picked off Daruis Muosou (#53) in the endzone.

Schlee ran some RPO’s showing off his vision with two carries for 35 yards breaking away for a first down high step out of defender reach.
