Los Angeles, Ca- The Los Angeles Clippers did what they were suppose to do, that’s win on your home court. Clippers were able to easily defeat the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 115-95. They played big ball a lot with their line up having Blake Griffin back.

The Clippers had six players in double figures in the win which allowed everyone to get involved. They only made 6 three point shots all in second half, so Portland will have a tough time once they shoot their normal percentage from downtown.

A great first round battle No 5 Portland vs No 4 Los Angeles that saw a 42-42 tie just before half. The Clippers finished the 2nd quarter with 8 consecutive points for 50-42 halftime lead. All that was missing in an exciting first half was Kevin Love droppin’ dimes with the Hoopers. There was no family love on the court between Damian Lillard of Portland and Jordan or Paul.

The Clippers had no three point baskets in the first half with only two attempts. The conventional two pointer was the name of the game. When you shoot 50% in first half you really don’t need to three ball. They also had a slight edge in points in the paint in first half 20/16. The eight point halftime lead was the largest in the half.

You could tell earlier in this game the Paul was looking to score with 14 points in first half of the game before finishing with team high 28 points. Big time players have to find a way to step up and lead their team any way they can.

Doc was asked what was impression of Griffin tonight?, “He was great. Assertive, I loved his energy.”

Now the team will get a practice in tomorrow and regroup and be ready to play Wednesday night back at Staples for game two in this first round match of No 4 vs No 5 game. If the Clippers can continue to win the points in paint & 2nd chance points they will be hard to beat.
